you will notice of course that in the 2nd opinions section BOTH of the editors said they would recommend or take the Hyundai over the honda and toyota.

and yes, it is based on price.

the hyundai isn't the best car in the group but may be the best car for the money.

The Camry is still ugly and probably a bore to drive.

Can't believe I'm saying this but the domestic is the best looking out of the four.
I'd probably take the Altima or Mazda6.

The domestic (Ford Fusion) is made in Mexico! 😛

Yes, but the value added (design, engineering, management, etc.) is in *gasp* the US!!

No Chevy Impaler? It may not be an exciting choice, but neither are the others in the comparo.
Its much larger than the ones in the comparo. The Malibu would have been the correct choice.

$30k for a Camry? I don't think so...not in this lifetime. Same for the Accord. You could almost buy an Acura TL for that kind of money.

Edit-Personally, I think the Ford Fusion looks the best out of that bunch.

You know, I personally hate Toyota, but if I was shopping for a car for my grandmother, I'd probably recommend the Camry.

The ~30K price is sticker including navigation, which no one with half a brain pays.

A TL with navigation stickers 35K-36K, still significantly more.

I'll be hard pressed to find reason to justify the extra 5-6K on a 2007 Camry LE V6 over a similarly equipped 2006 Sonata LX.

As others have said, I really think the Japanese options are overpriced. The Fusion may not be quite as good of a car but it's a great car for the money, as is the Sonata.

I mean hell, pick up the Sonata for a mere $19k or so and enjoy 10 years of warranty, then drive it till the wheels fall off. That's what I'd do.
