Edmunds: GT-R vs. ZR1

I dropped my Maxima off at the dealership for an oil change yesterday and was talking to one of the techs there about the GT-R. She said that a brake job costs $6,000. You have to sign a 2 page waiver about noise levels, heat, harsh ride etc before you buy one and if you break the transmission and it's not covered by warranty it will cost you $17,000 to replace.

Yeah, I'll pass on that one.

Z06 can EASILY be moddable to 600+hp, it's done all the time, Lingenfelter even has warrantied ones.

Why would you want to? At what point does the car become practically undriveable?

Dragstrip guys. I bet for every guy that tracks his Z06, there are 50 that go to the drag strip instead. I see Vettes and Stangs by the bucketload at Ennis.

You are quoting hearsay most of which I thought was said here in threads you were in.

REPLACING the brakes is $6k...not just pads.
