HyunDUHHHH

Yeah yeah, people say that until they see a company trying to be "edgy" or "unique" with cars like the Baja, Asstek, or Element, and you get people pissing and moaning about how groteque that "unique" design is.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, and all of those people hang out in internet forums.

I'm not so sure. Those things are generally the most expensive options and for many people completely unnecessary.

As for those critical of the bland styling, sure it's not pretty, but it's not really about being pretty.

You know, Hyundai should've really changed that logo of theirs in light of this "turn-for-the-better" stuff...

Seeing that emblem on their grill still brings bad thoughts to my mind. It would be a totally different feeling to see something refreshing. They should pull a Scion.

my goodness, either those pics are really scrunched up, or those seats are made for someone with about 2ft of leg and the ass the size of a grapefruit

That's what I was thinking.

I totally agree with you. No matter how great their cars become, their symbol is forever tainted in my mind.

Exactly, look at my RX8. Some people revile it and some love it to death, namely me.

This looks decent enough of a car to me. Not really ugly, not rally great. I just don't like lightbrown as a car color. That pastey peach look just gets on my nerves.

Nobody is stupid enough to bring a "unique and stylish" vehicle to compete with either the Camry or Avalon.

Both the Sonata & this are perfect for their intended market.

This is meant to be a conservative design, and to compete with Buicks and Avalons. The target audience is older, and not looking for cutting-edge design. IMO this is a handsome car, albeit a rather generic-looking one, and represents an impressive stage in the evolution of Hyundai, and Korean cars generally. I give it a solid B or B+.

Yeah I agree COMpLLLLLEEEEEETLY. Its an idiot move for a company to try to reimage their brand without actually reimaging their logo.

Oh don't worry...........it'll come. Just sit tight!

And if you want style, consider that Hyundai now has to do everything twice since buying Kia.

The new Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio are the same car, but look different and still both look good......(imho).

And with Toyota's quality falling hard on this latest Gen9 Corolla.......(google it)........there's lots of room for Hyundai to jump in.

Add that to Honda's & Toyota's bland looking Accord & Camry (less the SE, of course) and you've got a Sonata that's sitting in the wings ready to kick some Japanese arse!!!

Don't think for a minute that Hyundai/Kia don't know exactly what they're doing.

There will be a Hyundai/Kia in everyone's driveway soon enough............oh, there WILL be a H/K in everyone's driveway...........soon enough!!!!

It looks like an Acura RL from the front and a Honda Accord from the rear.

The front looks more Toyota derived, but yeah, yet another example of a Korean ripoff

I'll take a Touring Trim Avalon or a Maxima over this. I like the Sonata, and feel it's a great value, but when you start getting up into the 28k-30k range, things start getting messy.

something does not compute here

They said the same thing about Lexus in 1989

Ditto for Acura in the early 90's, then about Infiniti in the mid 90's, and we can all see that Infiniti is quickly making a luxury name for themselves
