I like those, and sadly even though I hate GM, I'd probably buy one... I really liked the way my friends Saturn Ion Redline felt, from what I understand they are the same car.

That's a pretty half ass review.

As far as I can tell, it's slower than the Neon SRT but has a bit better build quality and room. Fair assessment?

It's true, I've been in both, and the Redline Saturn with the same engine is quick, but would never touch the SRT.

build quality on the Saturn at least was a notch above the SRT, and this thing would probably be about there as well.

I thought Dodge already beat them to it.

Ditto.

The srt4 is lighter, cheaper, bigger motor, has more power and is faster... who needs the cobalt ss?

Strangely enough, there's a significant market out there for coupes and only coupes...because heaven forbid you have a sporty car with 4 doors.

The $21,995 Cobalt SS Supercharged may use parts from around the world but its feel is as American as the Super Bowl. And that is something unique.

I have no ideas of small car pricing these days, but after the obligatory GM rebates, first time buyer, and dealer discounts these can go out the door for about 18,000?

Doesnt sound too bad.

For the SS SC version? Not a chance- they are HOT right now.

You'll be able to get a non-SC SS version with a 2.4L Ecotec in June- 170hp.

I'm still wavering whether I want a 2.2L Cobalt Coupe or not- Those can be had for $14k.

I'd rather have a Scion tC with the TRD supercharger :D

Yeah, me too..but still, the Cobalt is definitley a good replacement for the Cavalier.

It also has two more doors than needed, has the build quality of the previous gen cavalier, and looks like, well, a neon.

40hp for $3k is not my idea of money well spent.

And it'd STILL be cheaper ($2,500 cheaper to be exact) than that damn $22,000 Cobalt SS and the tC already comes fully loaded.

tC is $16,465 including destination charge.

Still not money well spent;) I'm just speaking purely from a hp/dollar standpoint.

You figure that blower is $75/hp.

My main mod was $26.67/hp.

I'm talking total cost of the tC with TRD blower (if purchased with the car, it's warrantied and included in financing from the start) compared to a Cobalt SS. Hell, you'd even have some money left over for some add-ons :D And you won't have to deal with the rice ring on the SS ;)

Well hell, anyone who'd take a Cobalt SS over a blown tC is a fool!
