32V V6. Seems a little weird. That means an odd number of intake/exhaust valves for each cylinder? I had a friend who had a 12V Honda 2.0 I4 in a mid-80's Prelude back in the day.
What would be the purpose of adding more valves instead of making the existing ones more efficient? How would they lay it out?
Other than that, I've been looking forward to this thing hitting the streets for some time, it's good to know it's not a disappointment.

Well, Hyundai's engine has had quiet low HP/L ratio compare to the competitor's. I am guessing because of their lack of how-to on VVT, but maybe they just want to detune engine to improve reliability, not sure. I mean, even 3.8L V6 Lambda only makes 299 HP/266 ft-lb, and yet, it's the highest output for that engine so far (One in Genesis sedan makes 290 HP, One in Azera makes 265 HP)

Hyundai has come out with some very nice cars of of late; Its a shame people cringe if you tell them you drive one. It seems the initial thought when hearing the name Hyundai is "cheap" both the price and the car quality and most Americans don't consider them when buying.

So what is he street price supposed to be on the various trims levels? The more I look at this thing, the slicker it looks. Too bad the car sales industry is in the crapper right now. This thing could turn some heads.
32-valve, 3.8-liter Lambda V6
the turbocharged, intercooled, 212-hp 2.9-liter inline-4

A V6 with 5 and 1/3 valves per cylinder?
A 2.9L 4-cylinder engine? Is this thing going in a truck? 😀
Good article! 😛

that... looks great in red btw. Anyway, if you have $35k to spend on any vehicle, you may very well consider it on paper, but when it comes down to it, would you actually hand all that hard earned cash to Hyundai considering everything else you could get?
I personally think they should've changed their image with the introduction of that Accord/Camry beater Sonata a few years back. Update their logo... show people change [we can believe in]... something like that could go a long way.
