I'd suggest that if the OP wants to talk about Steinbrenner, there are already multiple threads for that... otherwise, yeh, it's an attempt to duh-vert...

This whole thing rather vividly illustrates that many on the Right have no sense of decency, no shame whatsoever... certainly not Breitbart, that's for sure. Knowingly editing the footage as he did amounts to slander, if not in the most technical legal sense. He saw the whole tape, then edited, right? This wasn't an accident.

His credibility among the target audience likely won't change one iota, however, and many will continue to believe that his hatchet job was accurate... like the attack on Acorn... like Iraqi WMD's and their reconstituted nuclear program, like a lot of what Righties have accept ed for decades, what they believe to be true about literally everything...

Have you ever stopped to consider the idea that you've been manipulated your whole life by the sources you trust the most? If nothing else, this episode should convince a few to do so... not many, denial being what it is...

Um, no diversion at all. Merely the point that the left is no better than the right, as you and other partisans here seem to think. Both are guilty of manipulating facts and distorting them. This time, it happened to be the right, and as soon as I found out the truth I posted a retraction. I haven't seen any evidence Bretbart did the editing - he denies it - but just like with the lies in the misleadingly edited ACORN video, he was the distributor for it.

It was another right-wing propaganda assassination project.

It used the same usual system, starting out with a more obscure site until it escalates up to Fox and then the 'mainstream' covers it because Fox made it an issue.

Breitbart didn't edit and post the video to show Sherrods racism, if he had he wouldn't have included the part where she talks about her realization that it isn't about white vs black, it's about the have's vs the have not's. He posted the video because it showed the NAACP laughing and nodding in approval of her story when she tells them that she finally had a chance to treat a white man badly.
