Hardware News and Events is dumb. Just post whatever is being released in their respective forums. And you can just check on AT to see whats being released.

And General Hardware is a joke and should be removed. Already sent a request to Zuni. I definitely hope it will be removed at least by FT4...

Fusetalk has nothing to do with what forums topics there are. That is the choice of Anandtech not Zuni.

Where the hell is the Distributed Computing forum in that list? That gets removed, then say bye-bye to quite a few members, many long standing ones, many subscribers, and have the good name that Team Anandtech Distributed Computing has made for itself, for love of this site and community, removed from here.

Revise that list to include Distributed Computing, and I, and many more, will be happy.

What the hell are you talking about? Thats his own personalized list - what he has shown. I don't have DC shown on mine either and quite frankly I don't care either.

Nice to see the mods cave for once :)

Very true. Some people just don't care about TA DC, but that's no reason to leave the forum out entirely. I would be one of the members who would leave if ATDC were deleted.

Edit: Thank you very much, mods and admins who were responsible for adding the new forum. It is appreciated by me (and I'm sure many others as well). :)

Please read the freaking post. He offers that as a suggestion of a possible way that certain forums could be rearranged. That is not his personal list. If he just forgot about the DC forum, that's fine; if you don't want to have it show up in your personal list, that's fine; but to deprive the community of a particular forum because you don't give a sh!t is not right (IMHO).

FWIW, Fusetalk 4 (according to a rumor I heard) will support forum subcategories. Whether Zuni will enable them here or not remains to be seen, but they might be useful for providing more organization in some of the forums.

It's not rumor, FT4 does support sub-categories but you are right about whether or not they'll be enabled on AT. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd also like to see Private Topics turned on but no word on that either.

If your comment specifically regards your opinion of the "war" topic - perhaps your post should have been in the "Official" thread and not this one. There's nothing constructive about your comment. This is a respectful request based on statistical volume and effort afforded a particular topic - not a banner waving charge to give an aspect of WAR a placard on the wall.

My comment refers to the dumb idea of creating a Politics and War sub forum on a computer discussion forum. The general 'lets have a 'car', 'home audio', 'general aviation' requests are bad enough. This one is truely stupid. It is not the purpose of AT to provide a forum for every discussion that one or more internet users may wish to have.

Perhaps you should instead ask them to reconsider the merging of all threads into the stickied ones in OT It is OT for heavens sake, it isn't like even a thousand different war threads are going to take away from the intellectual discussions happening in there. Last post I noticed was someone talking about how his lightbulb burned out today.

Bill

Well, my little reverse psychology ploy worked! (yea thats it, thats the ticket...)
