The "DTemp"/drvtemp SMART-monitoring tool also has an option that claims to be able to enable/disable offline scan, but that feature comes with enough warnings from the author that I've not dared try it. Nor do I have a need for it, really. Just thought that I would mention it, although I don't kind if works for Seagate drives or not.
