We are looking for people who would be interested in a race for fun!!

All you need to do is say that you are willing to participate and
try to keep your SETI WU production up so your team can win!

We will divide whoever volunteers up into teams so that each team will
be roughly equal and keep track of the scores. The race will be about
a month or two and which ever team produces the most packets wins!

Wins what? The right to brag that they are the BEST of course!
And why are we doing this? So we can generate more Stats!!!!!

Eponymous, how about getting a few big producers to donate a day or two WU production to the accounts of the winners? Something like that would be cool, cost not much in terms of time and those guys up near the top of the stats have nothing to fear from the rest of us anyway
Just an idea (I'd be interested in joining anyway, whether or not there is a 'prize')

i'd go for entering, nothing like a bit of healthy competition, and especially if a couple of the guys near the top donate me a day or two's WUs, will probably double my total!!

Eponymous, thats a good idea. lets see how the first race go's and we can take it from there. Side wagers sound good as not to put pressure on a whole team. I myself don't gamble,, in a two horse race i'd pick the loser, ive won 3 dollars playing Lotto, in 20 years.

I'm going to be losing one of my big crunchers in a few weeks (PIII 1000), so you can't really use my current average daily wu output as it stands right now, though...

Anyone know where I can score a cheap...I MEAN CHEAP TBIRD 1g? I got everything else. Just running another guys CPU till he gets back in town in a couple weeks

These adjustments are going to be hard to deal with. For instance, starting on July 11th I will lose 2.5 WUs@Day for 13 days. Should that be taken into account?

I'm sure everyone is going to have average production go up and down for various reasons. I hereby propose that Eponymous be officially declared COMMISSIONER with the authority to use his descretion on any "adjustments" of race memeber's AVERAGE WUs. This obviously would need to be done prior to dividing up sides.

/(me thinks outloud) sounds like we are getting ready for a neighborhood pickup basketball/football game...hehe, this is going to be a hoot!

Let's all remember that this is just for fun with the ultimate goal and objective being to increase interest in the Seti project in general and Seti TeamAnandTech in particular.

I think there should be a deadline fairly soon for folks to sign up and we can choose teams and get this thing rolling and avoid having to make adjustments.

If someone dosent sign up in time, they could in the next round, i figure the first time around there will be some bugs to work out anyway.

We will probably try a 60day race. Just long enough to
see how badly we did at guessing potential. :frown:
