Did almost a complete site rebuild. Diffrent colors for the green haters, diffrent menu bars. What do you think? New opinions welcome!!

Looks like an ok basic layout... nothing flashy or impressive, but that is fine

My only gripe is that the "home" link shouldn't be way off to the right in the corner. It needs to be either at the top of the list of links on the left side, or the company logo at the top left needs to be a hyperlink that links back to the TLD.

One of things that always annoy me and that I found on your site is when I click on the "Contact Us" link, it pops up an email client. Instead, I want to see a html page with contact info and see the email address before clicking on it to open the email client...

Or, to fight spam, have a "contact us" page with addresses and phone numbers and a link to email us. However, when you click on the email us link, it opens a new page with a form to fill out (like a web based email form) with a text box that you can type the sender's email address in, a subject box, and a body box where you can type the meat of the email. Then you click send and the window sends off an email and closes. That way nobody knows what address it's going to and web crawlers can't harvest your email address for spam.

Nik - I do agree that the home link looks out of place. I will be moving that.

toekramp - The green kind of fits the area so we went with it. Im not a big fan of it either but it works.

What about the concept behind the site? What do you guys think about that?

Loads fast and pretty well laid out. The colors and overall design makes me sick though and firmly reminds me of some of those cheesy default themes that comes with popular CMS scripts which is the same problem I'm having with my site. Programmers just doesn't jive with design!

one thing...i would put a main menu bar(like home buttons ect) on top in bigger font so they are easible used...also justifiy your text...itll look neater...but NJ!

Its a directory so everything is going to be an ad of some sort. but no pop ups or crap like that. Just a way for people in the local area to find out about business's and specials they have coming up.

Thats why we are currently giving away free advertising.

I like the layout for the most part but I think the bar on the right needs to be either redesigned or go because it looks tacky and same thing with the featured business box.

I really think your black on white theme color scheme is done well, looks nice.

there is some sweet menu programs out there for quick, nice looking menus. btw, try a different color setup, the greens....people aren't fond of them. I know from experience here at work.

i'm going to agree about green being a wrong color choice.

it's hard to pick a color scheme for a website. people like brighter colors more than the duller greens and blacks. they gray fits in nicely with the white background but try to find a different color other than green. no darker for sure. maybe even just lighten up the green a little bit so it's not as overpowering. other than that i would suggest a brighter color but then again you cant get a fluorescent orange cause it'll drive people nutz
