Oh I forgot to mention - I am thinking they will go back to that guy who got bit and left on the road to get some tissue sample for the CDC guy, since he mentioned how he lost his best fresh samples

yeah, i assumed this as well.

I honestly hope:

They keep the guy as a living zombie sample locked up in some controlled area. watch him deteriorate and use him as a guinea pig, more or less. that would be horribly awesome

Except you could kill the Zulus. The zombies don't care if you shoot them a dozen times as long as you don't hit the brain. You can blow off arms and legs and they keep coming.

Any idea what a .50BMG round will do to a zombie body, a human body already weakened by previous eating and rotting? Also that one round will go through to do the same to a few more zombies lined up behind the first one. A Browning heavy machine gun is a great tool for incapacitating a zombie horde from a stationary position. Put a few in enfilade positions, an art fully developed in World War One, and voilà! How are they gonna keep coming with no arms and legs, teeth their way forward? Just remember how slow the torso lady zombie was moving in the first episode and she still had arms. The dismembered zombies will be easy picking for small arms and even bayonetting through the head. Heck, you could just bulldoze them into a writhing mass and lit it up or use the tanks to play 'make zombie soup'.

It seems at this point that it might be diverging a lot from what happened in the comics ... although all I know is from a quick summary I read online ... (comic spoiler ->)
although maybe the CDC dude might turn out to be like the Governor?

I never wanted to be one of those "paww, the comic is so much better" dudes, but after reading the entire series I am kind of surprised they diverged that much. Thought AMC screwed up for a minute when the recording came on.

That's what I'm thinking will happen.

Does anyone know when the replay of Sunday's episode will be? Somehow I missed that one while I watched that stupid dismal Colts/Chargers game.

They usually play the previous weeks episode before the new ones. Not sure about during the week. If you have on demand they are there as well, at least with Comcast it is.

Answered above, but ya, I've noticed that it's played before the new episode on Sundays at 9pm since Rubicon is over now.

Haven't spotted during the weekdays. Think they re-ran Mad Men episodes at 10 or 11pm on Wednesdays a few seasons back.

I don't get the gun shortage. Seriously, in America?
While most of the stores, police stations, etc probably got stripped, there must be guns lying everywhere.

Oh, and how the f*ck could the US Army lose to bunch of mindless zombies who apparently can only move at a very slow pace, are attracted to sound and basically won't get out of the way of someone with a gun pointed at their head? And a tank! How could zombies defeat a tank???

Seriously. In America?

Too bad they didn't dump their shotguns and pick some M4s up by the CDC.

The preview looks like the next episode will have some footage/flashbacks of military vs. zombie action. And some friendly-fire?

I seem to remember finding replays of the new episode during the week, maybe around 10pm or 12am a few nights during the following week.

I could be wrong. definitely available On Demand through Comcast, though.

it's just a tv show. shut the fuck up and enjoy the entertainment at face value 😉

"omg, there's absolutely no way a group of birds could organize an attack on a school."

for what it's worth, I'd imagine the army would be ravaged by desertion as soldiers go awol to go defend their parents/families/etc and a tank can easily be defeated by lack of food, water, ammunition, or generic human stupidity.

Birds would be much harder to defeat than zombies. Birds can fly! Zombies can basically travel at a slow walk.

I guess my point is that the Zombie-ism must have spread in some other way than being bitten for most of the population. Which seems to be indicated by the hints of a government conspiracy.

I honestly hope it doesn't boil down to some generic government plot/conspiracy/experiment-gone-wrong explanation. The author of the comic series left it unanswered for a reason and it should be left that way IMHO.

everyone who dies rises again as a zombie, regardless of how they died (assuming their brain/head is in-tact)

That's how it worked with Romero zombies. There is no scientific reason for zombies that holds up, you pretty much have to chalk it up to magic or avoid explaining it. My wife was convinced it was the bites that spread, and while they haven't explicitly shown how it works in this series, NOLD just had every able corpse rise from the dead. The bites kill you from a fever, and since you're dead you rise again.

It would explain the spread. Every morgue and every person dying of a heart attack is a new vector of infection.

Don't know what to make of the writing staff being fired. The episodes were inconsistent, but not terrible. 6 episodes isn't really enough for them to go off the rails though. Unless this were Heroes.
