EDIT: Renewed for a second season. "The Walking Dead"

Is it possible they did two endings for the show? If it wasnt renewed, boom goes the dynamite. Otherwise, they do escape for the next season. Regardless of how the CB read, if the ratings were not there, they could have axed everyone.

Oh, ratings were there...

Check for the story on CNN or google it, one of the highest rated cable finales/shows ever. Six million versus 3-ish million for Mad Men, and Mad Men is coming back.

Windows not blowing out on the cars. Ya... I noticed that too, but the explosive "sets the air on fire" so it's not really an explosion, building came down cause of the heat? Tried my best.

If the military had enough personnel to send platoons of soldiers into small town hospitals to massacre patients and staff.... well, they'd probably have enough personnel to repel the zombie apocalypse.

I think "Day by Day Armageddon" provides a more realistic scenario wherein the military dropped purpose built noise generators in all the major cities to draw the hordes, then annihilated them with nuclear weapons.

If my Left4Dead knowledge is any good, the overwhelming horde effect may have made it easier to over-run cordons. Lower staff levels from desertion possible too.

The group that did the execution got overrun, even got some friendly fire in there. Doesn't explain the tanks unless they caught off guard; all they had to do was close the damn hatch.

Trying to logically analyze zombie movies/tv shows is as pointless as pointing out time paradoxes in time travel movies. They're about freaking dead people walking around for f's sake.

Yeah, how do you lose a zombie war in a fucking tank?! Secure the fuel depot with some uh, TANKS. Then use other tanks to run over zombies. Keep MREs & water in the interior in case your tank breaks down and you have to await rescue. No way an Heavy BCT would just get annihilated by zombies though.

Exactly! I mean, who gives a rat's ass if shrapnel hit their van or not?!?! I seriously wonder how some of you enjoy any fiction whatsoever.

Yeah those are awesome books. Cant wait for the 3rd!

Just one thing really irked me about those noise generators you mentioned - he said they were so loud they rupture ear drums and make you deaf when you are near them yet why didnt they make all the zombie deaf too?

Watched all 6 the other day. Not bad. Season finale was kinda a cop out and could have been eliminated leaving the characters in the exact same position they were in at the beginning of the episode with no development.

yeah, that's a fair assessment. This is why I like the British model for TV series much better. They pretty much green-light a project knowing it's going to get a 1, 2, maybe 3 season deal (with total episode count) right?

as far as I know, 3 seasons is quite rare as it is, but then you tend to expect ~10-12 episodes = 1 season?

this makes for much more cohesive writing, than having a short 6 or 10 episode project with a huge question mark dangling over the writers after that final episode.

Agreed. It's fiction and won't be 100% correct or perfect, especially when you're dealing with stuff that either isn't possible in real life or we haven't discovered yet. Just picture it as an alternate reality and whatever happens is possible and just turned out that certain way. Allows me to enjoy most all fiction (aka: FAKE) and not sit there with a frowny face nit picking every petty little detail. I wouldn't even waste my time watching fiction or sci fi otherwise.
