Screw those. What about the X1900XL? Will it be available before or after nVidia's G71 GT part? I honestly think I want the latter!

Now if only ATI positioned X1800XT as the new $300 mid-range solution...and started to release them in volumes.

I'm guessing this is the ultimate weapon ATI has been holding all these months, the x1800 series is just a way to calm down the inpatient crowd, "Hey lez just make a weaker version of x1900 to and put it on the market asap!"

Probably just to help insure stability in crossfire. Should still perform nicely at those clocks.

Nah. BFG10K has no point about sound, the 512 GTX and Quadro have proved you can cool a fast card on air without raising the decibels.
ATi isn't using those solutions and I'd expect the X1900 will have a similar cooler to the X1800.

I don't even know that he was trying to make a point about sound as he only referenced size.
A larger core size makes it hotter which means it needs more cooling.

i read its 16 pipelines but 3 ROPS per pipeline so 48 pixel shaders.

It says it needs 30Amps on 12V rail, 38Amps for crossfire.... :(

I dont think a top model antec trupower 550W has that much amps, unless u can divide the dual rails, 12V1 19Amps, 12V2 19Amps.

yes, although apparently "sli ready" and "crossfire ready" psus will be stretching it to earn those marketing labels.

the tpII 550 for example only has a combined 36a max on the 12v rails.
