edit: NO SOUND ON ANYTHING

windows movie maker (vista) won't play video. ive been working on a vid for the last 9 hours and now it won't play. i tried other saved vids to. i ended the program in task manager, rebooted computer, ran antivirus, ...wtf???

i really need to get the video done by tomorrow so it is crucial that i get this to work!!

any suggestions?

edit: ok, now no sound works for anything. youtube, itunes, myspace, vista sounds..nothing. i ended the HD audio so could that be it???? video still won't play on windows movie maker. i rebooted and that DID NOT FIX IT!!


edit: ALSO - ITUNES WON'T PLAY! I can open it, but the songs won't even play!!! WHAT THE F**K?!

You mentioned that you downloaded the Realtek drivers. Did you completely uninstall and reinstall the sound card, or just do a driver update?

i have no idea. i went to adminstrative tools - services - and i couldnt find hd audio or realtek audio. could i have permanently turned off the hd audio?!!

or could that not have even been the source of the issue????

It's possible that the onboard audio failed on your motherboard. Have you checked to make sure it wasn't accidentally disabled in the BIOS?

You did try rebooting, right? Never mind, you already answered that question. Try completely shutting down and turning off the PSU, wait 10 seconds, power up again and see if that helped at all.
