i'm actually tempted to try this software out, now that it's more stabilized (despite a few quirks as noted in mozillazine forum

but i'm using mozilla now, including the email client.

so, does anyone know of any side effects to using both mozilla and thunderbird on the same machine? will it corrupt my email, profile, preferences, etc? Or will they live happily ever after, side by side?

edit 2004.12.07:
the bird has landed. thunderbird 1.0 is out
thunderbird page

I've been using Thunderbird on Linux since like 0.6 and can't remember it ever crashing, although it is a little memory hungry, especially on large folders.

As for running it along-side Mozilla, I can't see why there would be a problem since all of the info for each is stored in their respective profile directories. Just make sure you don't set them both to delete mail from the server if you're using something sh!tty like POP3 access otherwise you'll spread your mail across both of them unevenly.

cool ive been useing thunderbird since .7 on my PC its great

ill prob wait till 1.0 final is out to upgrade. 0.9 has been solid as a rock for me

the bird has landed.
this is actually one of the fastest move from PR to release version .....

took them less than two weeks to set the bird to freedom -D

you go, birdie!
