I have:

AMD 1700+ XP
ABIT KR7A-RAID mobo
80GB 5400rpm Maxtor HD
60GB 7200rpm Maxtor HD
512MB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 8500
2 - 40X CD-RW drives (usually buring simultaneously)
3.5" floppy

And a 300W Enermax PS.......is it time to upgrade my PS? Is there any harm in underpowering your system?

edit I just added a LiteOn DVD-ROM drive to my PC. I've used all the power connectors......am I still ok?

Try holding in the "insert" key while you hit the power switch--you may have to do this several times for it to work...

Will try......what does this do?

If there is a problem with the cpu clock speed because of the jumperless setting on the new motherboards, by pressing the insert key as you power up the motherboard automatically resets the cpu settings, and in most cases allows you to boot into your bios where you can then adjust the cpu clock settings to spec or to what you desire them to be--as in oc'ing.

*edit* sometimes adding new hardware will be enough to disturb your motherboard's settings, and by hitting the insert key will "reset" those settings (which means you'll probably have to reset alot of custom settings ) but will let you add the new hardware and have it seen by bios.

I would consider getting a bigger power supply. I have the same type of equipment on my rig and I started getting random reboots/BSOD with my Antec 300. I installed mbm5 and it showed my +12 rail dropping down to 11.08. I wound up frying my RAM. I put in an Antec Truepower 380 and it works fine now.
