Edit: It's alive! :D OT: I'm tired...please come over and assemble my new 2.8GHz system...

I would like to wish the new one a very Happy Birthday. 😀

What did you name it? 🙂

No offense to your expensive system but my Athlon XP 3200+ with PC3200 2-3-3-11 DDR can chew out a WU in about 2:00-2:30 if left to it's own devices.

But can your system crunch 2 at a time ? His is.

15 WU's yesterday...1st full day! 😀

2 WU's at a time....at an average of 3:12 per WU! 🙂

P.S. I only paid $190 for the system board and chip with stock HSF....not really terribly expensive! 😉...considering it gets 15 WU's per day or so! 😀

Finally, a few angle WU's that made this thing shine! 😀

I don't deny that fact however it's not all it's made out to be. The second SETI application has to try and find available execution resouces in the processor left over by the first SETI application. In this case the second SETI application will typically run somewhat slower then the first application.

Hence the slower average times per WU. But, 15 WU's in 24 hours still = 1 WU ever 1 hour 36 minutes! 🙂

A little update...

The last 3 days, this little jewel has produced, 16, 16 and 14 (so far today). Shoud be around 16 (or more) today too! 😀

I love P4's in SETI! 😀

P.S. Also set a personal record at home yesterday with 142 WU's from home! 😀 (not counting dumps of the past)

Any solid testing from Prescott yet? I may just buy one if they kick @ss in SETI and other projects (I know they suck in DPad which sorta makes me want to hold off for a plain P4 or AMD chip).....

?

Forget it...I just hit the Newegg Refurbs section and hit a P4 2.6 for $120 shipped. I had the 2.8 in the cart and it was gone before I checked out! 🙁🙁🙁

But...2.6GHz P4 800 FSB HT processor should help a little....and a nice upgrade for the daughter! 😉

Now to find a Refurb board and some cheap ram (2 sticks for dual channel)! 😉
