I had a hotmail account and then I went to log in today and everything was deleted.... Any ideas on how that can happen? I lost about 100 e mails or so, and I no longer have a contact list for MSN instant messenger... anyone know what the hell is goin on?

Yup. After a certain number of days of inactivity (30 I think), they will delete your account.

2 things can cause deletions...
you were over your space limit for long enough that they purged your account.

or if you have not logged in for over 30 days they will delete the account.

Mine wasn't deleted, even though it was inactive for a very long time. Usually, they let you do it once or twice and get it back, then as soon as you waste your one or two courtesy turns, they'll nuke your account without anymore notice.

See I was below the space requirement, and I just logged in 2 days ago....

So then I log into Hotmail with my laptop at the library. My laptop runs win2k and up pop all the old 115 emails.

When I looked at my e mail at home on my new xp machine, I only got 1 e mail. The email I just sent to hotmail pops up under win2k but not under winxp.

Anyone ever hear of this?

NM I am a huge moron...

My e mail address is my first and last name... for some reason I was adding my middle initial in the E mail when I tried to send and log in and thats why it didnt work.... I am a moron...
