Would consider this offer if I didn't already get in on the Amazon deal during its brief window of being in stock.

I was just browsing at eCost.com and I was looking at their MX700. Low and behold they have a $10 MIR. It says you need the original UPC, but $10 vs. 20% ($7.60), I'd take the 10%. Don't know if I can post a link to it, so I won't link it. But yeah, eCost. :p

I got my mouse today. $37.99 shipped....ok sorry.

CUSA has this deal B&M so you could do it Staples B&M and get it to $57.99 after PM
If you look on the "other" hot deal site, they may have some instore printables available ypu can try. I think I saw a 20 off 50 printable floating around there; just search for it. If you can get it, you don't have to deal with the Staples CSR's. As Chizow stated, they must have been flagged to nix this deal over the phone.
If not, and you really want this mouse you can just PM B&M as described then use the 20% rebate to get it to $46.39.
Not as hot, but better than $80.
The rebate .pdf is also linked at the "other" site.
Let us all know how you make out, I'm curious.
Good Luck!

It seems Best Buy has a $20 mail-in-rebate...so buy from BB and pricematch to CompUSA @ $59.99, then use the $20 mail-in-rebate from Best Buy, and then use the 20% off from Logitech:

$79.99 (@ Best Buy)
- 23.10 (110% pricematch to CompUSA's $59.99)
- 20.00 (mail-in-rebate from BB)
- 15.99 (20% off Logitech Rebate)
-------------
$20.90

the so called "manager" was saying that the $20 rebate from BB won't come in because of the pricematch....can anyone comment on this???

[EDIT - 1/17/2003] - sorry.... the $23.10 included the tax i got back... so really it should be :

$79.99 (original price @ BB)
- 22.00 (110% pricematch to CompUSA)
- 20.00 (BB mail-in-rebate)
- 15.99 (20% off 79.99 rebate from Logitech)
------------
= 22.00 + tax on $57.99

and yea, to get 20% off of 79.99 buy the mouse first then go back and get a pricematch so the original receit still has 79.99 on it....i figured that would work

I can't find the rebate. I was trying to peice together a deal from bb since I don't have a Staples anywhere near me, but I don't see the $20 rebate, that would make it sweet.

Yeah man i dont see anything on the $20 BB rebate on this mouse...i'll go by there to check..today..in anycase does the $20 rebate on the mouse need the original UPC...cause if we apply the 20% coupon from Logitech..they would need a original UPC..

but it would be great if it does have a rebate...

btw..i bought a WD harddrive from these guys a while back and u can price match and still get the rebate on the drive..at least in that case. But i am sure it will come through...

Ok i went to BB and looked into the rebate for the mouse..yes there is a $20 rebate on this thing..but the thing is that the rebate says "Original UPC cut from box". and the Logitech rebate also says original UPC cut from box...

so that there in lies the problem...i wonder if anyone has talked with either of these companies and tried their rebate handling departments to just take the photocopy of the UPC...

i'll try taking to them tomorrow..and see what happens. :)

i called up Logitech @ the 1-800 number they have on their rebate form, and the CSR asked if there was another rebate invovled, i said yes it was a Best Buy store rebate that also wanted the original UPC, she said it would be ok for me to send in a copy of the UPC :)

Your math is a little off I think.
79.99 PM 110% to 59.99...is $22.00 off or 110% of the difference ($20)
the 20% Logitech rebate will be off of what the reciept says you paid, in this case $57.99 (79.99 - 22)
So 20% of $57.99 is $11.60
After you do the math correctly the total will be...$26.39 + whatever tax you paid.

I ordered these online last week from Staples, knowing CompUsa would have them @ the $59.99 price-

Picked up 3 + a pack of rubber bands to hit over $200. Applied a $50 off coupon, plus a $40 Discover card reward certificate. PM'd all three later at my local B&M down to the CompUsa price, resulting in a $64.95 credit back to my card.

3 of the rebates to send in, @ $15.99 ea ($79.99 x 20%, the price I paid on my receipt I made copies of) is another $47.97 off. Have sold the two extras already for around $60 ea.

So, grand total: $240.87- $90 in coupons - $64.95 in PM - $47.97 rebate - $120 in "excess" sale= -$82.05 in my pocket + a free MX700 to keep.

Not a bad deal, if I do say so myself!

Yes, my roommates both have it and love it. The transmission has been reported to be equal to a USB corded mouse.

It's time I followed the trend and got one myself :)

yup called basically rebatesHQ.com which is handling the logitech rebate and they said that would accept the copy of the UPC. and that we just have to give an explaine that there was another rebate that also wants the UPC. so with tax and everything i'd get this mouse for 30 bucks..not a bad deal at all man..

I thought I wanted the MX700 but after trying it out, I think I'll stick with my Logitech Cordless Mouseman Optical w/NiMh batteries. I prefer the thumb button position of the later, I don't have to raise the thumb up like with the MX700 (although the MX700 has 2 thumb buttons). Makes a big difference in some games and surfing the net (back button).

Anyway, you found a good deal! :)

P.S. Best Buy has the Cordless Mouseman Optical for $59.99 - $30.00 MIR this week. Picked up another one for new PC I'm building.

Well you need to get some grease in them old joints Mr. Diprock:p

... and what's with this MX having two thumb buttons... hello! Last time I looked I only had one thumb on each hand! Is this thing 2-handed or something?

LordGord, you can always use your left thumb to press the 2nd thumb button when needed. :disgust:

Just thought I'd give my 2 cents about the MX700, which joecav found a great deal on, plus posted the deal on the $30 MIB on the Cordless Mouseman Optical as an alternative. :D

i tried pm it at bestbuy today and those bastards said they don't honor internet printouts and besides if it worked, they only give it to me for $60, not 110% off because i havent purchased it..

I just bought mine, and other than the fact that the CSR was a dumb@ss and a liar (he supposedly called compusa and said their price was 79.99 and they had no instant savings, so I had to make a long trip to Compusa to get their ad) it went fine. The $20 rebate printed up and then I pricematched, I'll send the rebates off tonight. Ohh andydanicki, it should have printed in-store, it should have said -20 mir on the shelf tag, if not you are getting shafted.

Ohh, any of you know if it is better to let the MiNH batteries pretty much discharge all the way before recharging or wether just putting it on the charger when not in use is better??

Only thing that concerns me is the weight of it. Is it considerable heavier then a regular mouse?

You could have M$ replace your current mouse free of charge... but good deal. I just recommended this mouse to a friend, but I'm gonna see if I can pick one up myself.
