Called Outpost and verified that it's a typo on the website and the price will be $69.99 after MIR.

I called Outpost and they reduced the price to 99.99 for the drive, because of the rebate price error.

I did too (after placing my order online). It has since been changed online, so if you didn't hop on this, the price is now $69.99 after MIR (OP already fixed).

I am going to be heading to Fry's to get one tomorrow. They are on sale there to. Not sure if it exactly the same price.

i think i'm going to the same thing and buy it at the store...comes out like 4 dollars cheaper than online (online is $5 cheaper but for me close to $9 for ground shipping)....but i'm probably going to take someone else so i can get a 2nd one.

going to fry's just to get one might not be worth saving the few dollars b/c of gas, time, etc...

price at fry's is on this ad (dec 17-dec21) for 114.99 before 40 MIR.

Just a warning, I purchased this HD at Frys a few months back and am still waiting on my rebate. Called them a few weeks ago to get an ETA and apparently it is in the "final stages" of being processed and will come in the form of a postcard. Hopefully it comes sometime soon... just wanted to give you all a warning the rebate (if the same, which it appears to be) may take a while to get.

In the same boat.

Just realized something..you're in Bham 🙂 I'm in Ferndale..didn't think there was anyone from my neck of the woods 🙂

This is the only real budget deal around on hard drives, and it's a darn good one.
Outpost shipping is a little steep - nearly $8 for ground, and nearly $10 for 2nd Day FedEx.
So you end up close to $80 AR for 200GB with a 5 year warranty.
But still, there's nothing else out there right now that competes with this deal.

FYI. Like Emeraldsky says, these are excellent deals. It seems that Fry's/Outpost is helping a lot of the drive manufacturers (at least Seagate. Maxtor, and Western Digital) blow out quickly obsolescing PATA inventory.

A bought a few 160, 180, and 200 gb drives in the last few months--all rebates came in, but they're just slow as all rebates are. I am still waiting on three rebates from from Fry's post-Thanksgiving sale though. (200gb WDs at $49 after rebate.)

In any case, these drives are great for your new MSI K8N-NEO4 Platinum/SLI rig!

Anyone know how good Fry's is at having this in stock? I noticed it's not a "until supplies last" item, but a friend and I are going down to one on Tuesday (Closest Fry's is 50 miles away 🙁 ) Last time they had a hard drive sale, they had boatloads of them.

I'd just like to know as I don't have too much experience with them on sale items. Going to give them a call on Tuesday anyway.

The frys I went to (fremont) had about 15 of these drives on the wall. I went yesterday night. I'm pretty sure every bay area fry's has a few in stock. They get drives by the pallet!

I got mine yesterday. Yow - that's a lot of storage space.

Edit: Actually, it's not quiet. It reminds me of hard drives from several years ago.
When it's working, you can hear it clicking away.
