Hi there, yesterday I bought myself an Asus A7V266-E, athlon XP1600+ and 512mb of pc2100 ram. My previous board was an abit vp6 dual PIII board, with a highpoint 370 raid onboard. That highpoint supports raid 0, 1, and 0+1. And this lite-version of the promise only support raid 1 OR raid 0, with only two drives... That sucks. So I thought of tweaking it, so do the 'promise-mod', solder the resistors at the right spot and update its bios. Before I started I tried a few thing and that's were I got in trouble. Nor cbrom (tried version up to 6.06) nor modbin can read the 'medallion' award bios. So no bios editing to be done here....

So i'm looking for a way to have the promise controller support raid 0+1

All help is appreciated

Yup the lite promise controller really blows. There other motherboards with the pdc20265 lite chip that has bios mods to enable full raid on the boards, but since the a7v266-e is new, I cant seem to find any for it.

Hopefully someone will see this thread and give us a hand.

Any info or links on this subject would really help guys, thanks in advance.
