I'll try just one processor tonight in hopes that the board will hold up and at least produce something. A dead board is a terrible thing to waste. :(

Soggysocks, I would probably just buy two boards and cheap power supplies and get some old stuff and build two new crunchers out of them. Even if they only produced 5 WU's per day each, it's better than nothing.

Curious..do most new boards take the TBirds still....or would that be a problem (1400 TBirds)?

I'm really not an Expert on AMD.

Though I read all the tech and review site reports . And from what I remember the newer boards are more Processor specific than the last generation boards. Though I've repaired and upgraded a few AMD rigs And, have been meaning to BUILD an AMD rig. You would be better asking an AMD Freak than me ;)

To hell with the duallie! :Q

Just ordered 2.8GHz P4 800MHz HT with 512Meg PC3200 (will run Dual Channel). Also Intel 865G board (cheap). Now to find a heatsink/fan. ;)

Oh, I might have a few TBird 1400 processors to donate to a TeAm SETI cruncher (at least until SETI1 ends). I'll make a new post! ;)
