I'll try just one processor tonight in hopes that the board will hold up and at least produce something. A dead board is a terrible thing to waste.

Soggysocks, I would probably just buy two boards and cheap power supplies and get some old stuff and build two new crunchers out of them. Even if they only produced 5 WU's per day each, it's better than nothing.

Curious..do most new boards take the TBirds still....or would that be a problem (1400 TBirds)?

I'm really not an Expert on AMD.

Though I read all the tech and review site reports . And from what I remember the newer boards are more Processor specific than the last generation boards. Though I've repaired and upgraded a few AMD rigs And, have been meaning to BUILD an AMD rig. You would be better asking an AMD Freak than me

Just ordered 2.8GHz P4 800MHz HT with 512Meg PC3200 (will run Dual Channel). Also Intel 865G board (cheap). Now to find a heatsink/fan.

Oh, I might have a few TBird 1400 processors to donate to a TeAm SETI cruncher (at least until SETI1 ends). I'll make a new post!
