Well guys and gals, it?s that time again. Amazon hiring is in full swing and we are looking for good people to help get some very cool projects done.

My team is called Drop Ship Systems and we are responsible for all third party fulfillment for Amazon.com shipping platform; we handle roughly 30% of Amazon?s worldwide volume and have partnerships with over 800 warehouses across the world. It?s a very exciting group and I personally feel it?s a great opportunity for career growth

I have 5 positions open for Software Developers in my team; we are primarily looking for good developers with Java or C++ experience. If you feel that you have a strong CS background and are comfortable standard Java Technologies and J2EE Patterns definitely submit your resume. We are building a brand new set of systems based on a SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) so any knowledge of Web Services/SOAP is a definite plus. Knowledge of JSP/Struts or JMX would be great.

The positions we have open are for all levels from Junior Levels to very Senior Levels so don?t feel shy if you don?t have a lot of experience.

I also have openings for 3 Senior Ops Guys who want to become developers. A great candidate will have good UNIX, Networking, and Problem Solving skills and will have the ability to debug software problems, triage issues, and help insure the operational success of our systems.

There are some TPM, and Account Manager Positions open as well which I can get you hooked up with which are typically suited for people more interested in the business side and partner relation side then those very technically minded. If you can help drive a project from start to end and can keep calm and composed with the most difficult of partners then this is a good position for you.

If you are interested please follow these steps:

1) Get your resume ready and email it to me at apaleja@gmail.com

At the top of your email please give me the following info:

Name
Current Job Title
Address
email
home phone
secondary phone

If you happen to see any particular jobs that interest you on http://www.amazon.com/jobs let me know up to 3 job codes and I can get in touch with those managers, if you don?t give me any job codes then I assume that its ok for me to find whatever I think looks good and assign it.

Your resume should be in Text Format and should be in the body of the email.
If you would like to attach a cover letter then please do so at the beginning of the email and make it apparent where the cover letter ends and the resume begins.

The subject line of your email should be:
Amazon Jobs: *AT Handle* - *Real Name* - *position you are interested in*

For the position choose from the list below:
OPS // Senior Ops Candidate with good UNIX, Networking, and Problem Solving Skills
SDE1 //Junior SDE with 1-3 years of experience.
SDE2 //Mid Level SDE 3-5 years experience
SDE3 //Senior Level SDE with 5+ years experience
TPM // Technical Program Manager with 4+ years
Account Manager // Business Role with direct interaction with both our partners and the development teams

Some of you may be wondering what results have happened in the past and I can give you a rough break down:

Out of the 40 or so resumes I got many of them got interviews, and of those a handful got offers extended.

If you have any questions please post them here so I can answer for everyone.

(If you have read all of this then please give this thread a bump so your fellow AT friends can see it and maybe benefit)

EDIT 1:

Well I screened through the resumes and submitted many of them. Many of you guys should be contacted in the next week or two. Good Luck!

EDIT 2:

Congrats to those of you getting offers!

Good Question! I should have mentioned this.

All the positions are located in Seattle, WA. If an offer is extended Amazon will help out with relocation expenses.

Gah, as someone who runs the back end of job sites, yours makes me wince! ;) If you guys decide to do an RFP and implement an applicant tracking system, let me know.

lol, you don't like my clever use of gmail? lol

once i screen the resumes they go into an internal tool that tracks applicants so it doesnt just sit around in my email box, some recruiters will actually follow up and keep the process going.

Man, I would kill for even a very low wage position at their DE office.

HS grad, less than a semester in college, and disabled. Good luck, eh?

You guys need to hook the internal tool up with the site - WAY less work.
