Well on a more serious note for me I first held hands with this girl it was rather natural. But she asked me out when I was about 13 or 14? We just held hands and walked down to the end of the school field and made out 😛
BUT
Holding hands withmy first real gf was a nervous thing for me. I really liked her and it was new to me. I was nervous as f0ck. I didn't ask her as I at least knew that was lame. I some how manage to get the balls and just held her hand. She would at times grab my arm to cross the road! That would kind of annoy me but I was too nervous at the time as we were dating and finding out about each other.
You just got to take it like a man and hold on to her hand for future girls.

WOH!! The first 3 dates combined with my GF of one year I spent $60 total. That's insane. First dates should never cost that much. I have a rule on my first dates which has worked like a charm, spend $15 total, just see if the girl can have a good time with you, not your wallet. If she can, second date is a go. If she can't, your out $15 for 2 or 3 hours, so what.
That's crazy, way too much money.
As for holding hands or kissing or anything like that, it SHOULD NOT be awkward. It should feel like a natural progression into that. The way you do that is just by initiating small touching. Girls like a guy who can listen, but don't be hands off. Don't grope her ass or anything, but maybe once or twice in a date touch the small of her back, touch her arm, hand, anything. Girls know what your doing even by the slightest touch. Make sure she reciprocates with a touch of her own though. It's bad sign if you touch her acouple times and she doesn't back. That usually means back off at that point. But it's not rocket science when it comes to holding her hand, just do it. Don't say anything, don't hesitate, if your walking out of the restaurant or something to walk somewhere else, grab her hand. It should feel natural, not awkward.
YOU have to make the move though. Never wait for the girl to make the move, be a man about it and do it. Most women I know do not want to men who aren't confident enough to be atleast a little bit aggressive. My friend Vanessa had a major crush on my friend Mike, all he had to do was initiate a little bit and get the ball rolling. She gave him 2 months to step up the plate and he never did. She eventually lost interest in him. If he atleast held her hand or kissed her, the sparks would have exploded, but he didn't do it.

That's a good idea I may try. Screw it if it turns them off. Just means they were too interested in money. I take it you've had second dates with this method?
