What a generic statement with nothing to back it up with.

That's why MS charged to release updates, that's why Indie devs said MS wouldn't let them self publish and charged fees. That's why all these things are changed to match what Sony offers.

Full HD? It's either HD resolution or SD resolution. There are different HD resolutions. 1280x720 and 1920x1080 are both HD. There is UHD coming with 4k which is 3840 × 2160

There is no such thing as full HD. That was a made up marketing term to sell 1080p.

720p = HD

1080p = Full HD

Way to miss the point though.

Here's to hoping that they crank the speeds as much as possibly on both GPU and CPU even if it risks fan noise and overheating. This will only be a problem with the first batch of units before they're released with a die shrink which there will be several of in their lifetimes. In 7 years you'll be really glad for every extra MHz they pushed these initial unites.

This is an older article but if it got posted here before, I missed it. Someone tried to do an approximate comparison of the XBO vs PS4 GPU using PC hardware. They certainly had to fudge things a bit since they don't have the actual console hardware (they explain the method and rationale in the article), but their benchmarks ended up in favor of the PS4 by 20-30% depending on the game, which is not too surprising given what we know about the hardware differences.

Can Xbox One multi-platform games compete with PlayStation 4?

Lol the troll is the one spouting full HD as if only PC is real gaming. So nice try but fail.

That isn't what is being argued though. You're whining Full HD is just a marketing term and doesn't actually represent 1920x1080. Never going to move on at that rate are you?

What does PC gaming have to with this? Way to put words in my mouth.

XBone has a weak GPU they should have gone with a 32 ROP card designed to do 1080p like PS4 gpu. Running games in the native resolution of the display device makes a huge difference.

Even the PS4 won't do 1080p all the time BF4 is 720p still and I bet other games will be too as many developers would rather go with higher framerate and/or more visual effects.

Native resolution does help but unlike monitors on a PC, TVs have good scalers and the consoles themselves will probably scale everything to 1080p. Scaling isn't quite as good as native though, but since we have proper scaling it doesn't have the same effect as running a non native resolution on a PC monitor. It shouldn't be terribly blurry etc.

Is anyone honestly surprised? The PS4 has vastly more memory bandwidth and 50% more GPU power.

Every Dev with any Balls has said this from the day they actually got in and started programming.. Either under their breath or out and out in a a blog (which all are carefull to point out is not an OFFICIAL statement, cant piss of one side, it still might win) Now that they use the same "basic" architecture, pure Hardware speed is the difference maker.. the PS4 is at almost always 1/3 faster, in some instance almost 1/2.

Till we see games, compare um, who cares.. Devs will program to strengths. One will lack 2 clouds in the background, 10 miles off and all the sudden the other will be better..

look at the good news, they are supposedly pretty close to program for, we wont see the early crap from devs like we did on the PS3 (sorry, its just a fact the 360 had the better cross platform games in the early part of last gen) I suspect the One will be the lesser to start this gen if all the devs are correct with their assessments of the new consoles, big deal, they will figure out how to make it compete in some time. NO dev in his right mind will make a game way better on one console then another, that would alienate them one of the big 3, (big 2 if you are talking high end) and who knows who will win the next gen (or this one even).

own both, IF MS can stick with there newly adopted stance on USED games.. I will own both again. No way Im paying $60-70 a game..

Lazy devs will have a game on two platforms that simply looks and runs better on one, as was mentioned in the article.

Honestly then you simply don't matter to them. If you don't buy games anyway they aren't marketing these to you.

Used games are cool and all but the used market will be dry for quite a while.
