Eddie Murphy - Back to stand up??

Josh

Lifer
"Eddie Murphy has a new movie coming out in theatres this summer but he has revealed to Extra that this is going to be his last movie.

Murphy says, "Fifty years (old) I'll have been making movies thirty years and I have close to fifty movies and it is like why am I in the movies?I've done that part now. I'll go back to the stage and do standup."

It?s sorta weird he says that because Murphy is already committed to 5 other projects. According to IMDB.com, he?s completed one project; he?s currently filming one, one in pre-production, one was just announced and another in production. "

"Gus ! Gus, can I ask you a question?"

"Why is the fire so big ?"

"Why you made the fire so big ? Look at this shit ! Is a muddafucker ridiculous, Gus !"

"The fire is too muddafuckin big ! Why ?

You're coming in every motherfuckin' year, Gus..."

"...and you burn out my mudafucker backyard ! Why ?"

"I'm cooking muddafuckin hamburgers this big ?"

"I'm not cookin' no motherfucking brontosaurus burgers in this motherfucker !"

"This ain't the motherfucking Flintstones, Gus ! It's my house, motherfucker !"

"Look at Charlie standing over there with third degree burns on em."

"It doesn't make sense no. But you take things too far Gus..."

I'm not sure I can even give him a chance on the stage any more after the horrible movies he's made.

If he had stuck with it and used the Dreamgirls reviews to get into serious roles, I would have given him a shot.

Eddie was the KING of standup in the 80s. Delirious & Raw were hilarious.

seriously, hes been shitting the bed for years, he has lost it. Then you watch RAW from 20 years ago and are amazed thats the same eddie murphy. How many times can you be 10 characters in one movie?

The last time he was funny was in Bowfinger. And that was the first time he had been funny in quite awhile. So his funny per movie ratio is pretty terrible.

Awesome movie! Bowfinger is seriously under-rated!

Woww...you have never watched Eddie's stand ups from the 80s? That's crazy. Watch his stand up "Delirious," the quote might make more sense.

Bowfinger, Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop... he has some good movies. Raw and Delirious were amazing =)
