Ed Norton's 25th Hour

Damn and I was debating seeing this in the theatres but never did.

Guess I'll have to rent it on DVD, thanks.

I can't stand that guy so I am waiting till it comes on cable. Oh, I like everyone else in that film, but I don't want to waste my money incase Norton ruins it for me.

It was okay... the best part was <SPOLIER> when he rants and makes fun of everyone heheh 😀 </SPOILER>

Me neither... American History X, Primal Fear (OMG SUPERB acting), Fight Club, Red Dragon... he's just one of the most talented actors around imo.

Wow, I guess that I am in the minority here. I love Ed Norton but did not like 25th Hour much at all. I think first and foremost the score was totally out of place. The film itself felt very disjointed. There was a lot of 9/11 stuff that just felt grafted onto the film. The scene from Barry Pepper's apartment was really powerful when the camera zoomed to Ground Zero, but it felt out of place in the film. The bathroom poetry scene was good, but it too felt out of place.

I guess what I am trying to say is that the film was composed of many good little parts; the acting, the poetry, the 9/11 tributes, the score, but when it all came together none of the individual parts fit right with one another.

Just my $0.02 USD

It certainly wasn't his best movie, but i liked it. The part that annoyed me the most was his time... he was only going in for 6 years, and was making such a big deal about it. He'll probably be out in 2-3 years anyways... and with just marijuana, he'll probably go to a minimum or low medium pen. Now, if he was going in for life, then i would understand it.

The thing was prison would have killed him, literally or figuratively. There was no way anyone like him would last in a hardcore prison. Also, he got busted for heroin, not marijuana.

No, it was marijuana (it was in the cushions)... no way would he have gotten only 6 years for heroin.

25th Hour was one of those weird feeling good movies, where you say, "That was enjoyable" but not great. The 9/11 stuff was just stupid.

This is the story of the last twenty four hours Monty Brogan (Norton) gets to spend with his two best friends, Frank (Pepper), a bonds trader, and Jakob (Hoffman), a high school English teacher, and his girlfriend, Naturelle (Dawson), before he goes to prison for seven years for pushing heroin, as they party the night away in New York City one last time.
