No promo code required, seems like a decent deal for a basic PC.

Pros:
PCI-E (x8), x1 slots
Passively cooled chipset
Onboard everything
SATA + Raid 0/1

Cons:
'Warranty void' sticker over CPU
Only 1 PATA header
Possibly DDR333 memory
No HSF

It'll probably play WoW out of the box, and a PCI-E slot means you can make it a pretty capable gaming rig even with the 3200+. ECS budget boards usually have very mild forms of overclocking, but I can't comment on this one in particular.

Thats actually not to shabby as long as you can get the rebate. For $87 shipped its not to aweful great. But $67 shipped is not bad at all.


Edit: It does seem the memory is 333mhz. The board says it supports Up To 333mhz DDR. So that is most likely what the 512MB stick of memory it comes with is.

It also comes with High Def audio, although it uses the lower end codec. But still not to shabby. 6 channel support.

The link that newegg points to is not the exact board. I was going to check out the manual for ocing. But they most likely took it out with this board revision.

looks like a typo on the newegg page , ram is ddr1, 184 not 240 pin. had me wondering

EDIT: Ah, you're right, I didn't notice this was actually the ALIVE6100 VSTA (unless the pics on Newegg are wrong) until I reread your posts and checked the pictures. After checking the new manual for this board I see DDR400 support is still claimed, and if you look closely you can see 'DDR400' is silk screened on the board. But it's still uncertain whether it actually comes with DDR333, most likely it does. Overclocking is still available with a fsb range up to 300mhz, but still no voltage options. Apparently the PCI-E slot is limited to x8 bandwidth for GPUs, shouldn't make too much of a difference on a setup like this though.

I'm pretty sure this is a typo based on what everyone else is saying and this being a 754 platform. It says in the Newegg Specs that it takes 2 X 240 Pin, isn't that DDR2?
