ECS K7S5A / Voodoo3 conflict?

Anyone know of a conflict between the 3dfx Voodoo3 and the ECS K7S5A (onboard sound/LAN) mobo? I am running win98 se and cannot get it to soft power-down the mobo using 3dfx's voodoo3 driver (v1.07). The signal to the monitor stops, but the tower's power supply and hard drives stay on.

When I change the display adapter's driver to standard VGA, the mobo shuts down just fine (as it should) by itself. Any thoughts? Thanks...

Oh yes, a "conflict" ... this very obviously is a driver bug, don't you think? Driver in - no work. Driver out - all fine.
Update to the latest SiS AGP driver to be on the safe side, then try to get hold of a working driver set for your graphics card.

regards, Peter

Did you load the Sis AGP driver? I built a machine with ECS K7S5a with a voodoo 3000 agp, no probs. I made sure I loaded all the necessary ECS updates, including the AGP one i mention. That workstation is using Win ME.

I ran the wife's machine with the K7S5A and V3-2000 before I upgraded the vid card, it was fine. try a newer driver

hey thanks guys. but do I need to install the SiS AGP driver before installing or reinstalling the 3dfx driver? does order matter?

<< Anyone know where I can find the SiS v1.08 AGP driver? the ECS site still has only the v1.07... >>
