I am 100% sure they support upto the 1900+ XP and 90% sure its ok with the 2000+. Just make sure you get a good amd approved powersupply with this one, it's kinda picky

I'm using one of these with an XP 1700+, and i'm pretty sure it will take up to the 2000+. Be absolutely sure you get a good power supply. Also, do not use a pci video card under any circumstances (it will mess up your sound). It can also be a little picky with the SBLive! series, if you have one put it in pci slot 4 i believe.

I have the latest BIOS 2/2/02 and an XP 1700+. The only FSB/mem settings that I can select is 100/100, 100/133, or 133/133. Whatever happened to the other FSBs?? I want to overclock!!!

This motherboard wasn't designed with overclocking in mind.
It was meant to have a great feature set at a low cost point.

There is an OC BIOS at OCworkbench.com

it has these FSB's

100/112/124/133/150/166

i dont think anyone has got the K7S5A to do 166 FSB though, at least not without changing the cooling setup on the SiS735 chipset. i hear it is just stuck on with that wax-tape stuff.

but still, you cant change multiplier or voltage without hard mods to the chip (can be done by modding the board too IIRC)

still, its a good solid board, and a great price :D

Yes. Flash the newer bios and it will recognize the newer Athlon XP's at boot up.
