ECS K7S5A Another install, another easy one.

Installed another of these boards today.
It's amazing how easily these boards can be installed.

This was over a previous VIA motherboard that had failed. So no new clean HD.
The guy had all his EverQuest junk on it and didn't want to lose it.

I'm increasingly amazed how easy this board can be done.

ease of installation is not my concern; reliability, howevr, is ;)

well, thats good to here because I will be getting myself that same board to run XP1700 on it. i wanted the ASUS board with VIA chipset but its 70$ more expensive. well, good luck with yours

Not having any problems here, and I have a bunch of K7S5A's running. Only one with a XP processor tho.

I too have the ECS K7S5A,Not a problem yet.Well it was losing its bios settings but I replaced the batt and all is fine now for 4-5 months.
I have a question for you,Ill post a topic on it too,what is the best performance settings for the memory?While im at it what is the best settings for all of the bios settings?
I have the CPU fsb set at 150 and it seems to be running just fine.Ill leave it there for awile to see how it goes.I have 512MB of Crucial DDR if it matters.

Stability doesn't seem to be any kind of issue either.
Two of the systems have had Live cards. No problems there.

Disk scores have been slightly higher than Sandra's ( a good thing :p )

The board I mentioned above was the first time that I have used SDram over DDR becuase he aleady had 512 mb. No problems there either.
We played UT for several hours with no hic ups at all.
