Im having a strange problem with my brothers K7AMA motherboard. Well, with that and windows 98. Windows detects a pci communications port, but i cant seem to find the right drivers for it, it even went so far as to detect i had a modem plugged in, but, then it installed the modem...and still couldnt find the pci communications port. Worked fine on Win2k, but he formatted and put 98se on it, and ive gone all over the ecs driver cd trying to find the right drivers for the damn thing. Anyone know anything about this problem/board at all? Ive used 3 or 4 ecs boards that dont usually pick the pci ports up on a fresh install, but ive never had a problem getting the drivers off the cd and making it work. ugh

thanks in advance

So your device manager lists a PCI Communication Device and finds no driver for it?

Well do you actually have a PCI modem in there? If so, you need to identify what it is, and then go to that manufacturer's site for a driver.

Else, you might have an AMR modem card in it, driven by a chipset integrated modem engine. Drivers for this are on www.ecs.com.tw or www.pcchips.com.tw - K7AMA also appears as M817 there. W98SE drivers are available too.
