Hi I am about to make purchase on fry's E8400 & ECS board deal - 159.99

I read that I don't need to do the pin mod on this board
ECS G31 and it'll OC to 3.0ghz?...is it true?

Should I choose E7200 99.99 + mobo over this deal?

What's a good CPU for photo editing...better performance on opening RAW file and Adobe Lightroom.

If you want for low cost and best bang for buck...E7200 beats E8400 in raw power to dollar ratio. In general use, you may not notice much, but the lower cache may be an issue for the applications you're using. If you have the money, go with E8400, but then again, you may as well get a quad core. The computing world is definitely moving over to quad core territory with Nehalem coming out in full force. So if you do want to upgrade down the road, pick up a cheap E7200 for now, and then once Yorkfield drops in price after Nehalem comes out, you can get a quad next year.

I like this deal over E7200 combo but if you do nothing else, then you can save but a few $$ buying e7200s.

thx f91 & nyker96....I guess I'd just spend extra 20 bucks & get the 8400.
It looks like the only reason to choose 7200 is I'd be able to choose the mobo I want...I want at least 6usb 2.0. ECS only have 4.... :(

btw I'd want to play some comp game...like Bioshock or Cystic or something (Cyborg that can transform into things)
So what graphic card should I buy? I don't really play game that much, so I'd want a quite sound card. maybe a passive heatsink recommendation?
