ECS $10 off $50 deals, plus J&R

Just wanted to post an update on the latest ECS rebate deals since we're in the holiday shopping season.

1. There are lots of $10 off $50 rebates good for 3 times use each at my ECS deals site This is the only place those rebates are listed, so don't look for them on the individual sites.

2. If you shop at BrandsForLess and sign up for their new ValuPoints program, then they give you 500 points to start, which is the equivalent of $5. They've also been giving out 250 point bonuses pretty often, so that's like free money.

3. The BrandsForLess site has also got free shipping on orders of over $75.

4. There is a new deal for 10% off at J&R, who has a lot of electronics. Combine that with free shipping and the $10 off and you'd have a pretty good deal. To maximize the deal, remember your purchase has to be over $75 AFTER the 10% off, so you'd have to have a merchandise total of at least $84 in order to qualify for free shipping AND $10 more off.

On a personal note, I want to a replay or a TiVo as a gift. I have a TiVo, but I'm thinking replay because of the monthly fee. Anyone use the replay and have comments? I love the TiVo.

Another cool thing on the BFL site that I noticed is that there are 4 merchants featured on the homepage where you can get double points on your purchases! This is once you sign up for your free 500 points.

FYI, ReplayTV is getting out of the hardware business so you should be able to get a unit for closeout prices. I'm not sure how this will affect the data service in the long run. It might go away also...

How to get the J&R 10% off? I find the link, but will the amount be deducted 10% at checkout, or B4L will send me a rebate check later?

Okok, I had the same problem and went to their cs. They said the link was wrong and are fixing it now. Should be up later this afternoon.

If replay is getting out of the hardware biz, then why are they advertising their stuff like crazy? The person I'm getting it for can afford the $10/month anyway, so I think I'm going that way. Besides, I owe them the biz after the free one they sent me for writing a stupid essay.

I clicked on the link and read your page. What does the part at the bottom that says "Standard Cash back Rebate Rules:
Promotion expires 10/31/00." mean.

Has the promotion expired?

Hmm... my 20% rebate from way back in August hasn't even arrived yet ($230 item)... e-mailed them about it an never got a reply.

I got my two 20%(=$128) and two $29.00(=$58) rebates in 3rd week of Nov. The date on the checks was 11/16.

I also received a 109 check rebate from them for a Casio EM-500 bought at JandR.com.

Still can't find the 10% link. I see a "save up to $25" banner on the BFL homepage, but when I click it, it takes me to J&R's homepage without any mention of a promotion.
