I came across this because I have a 2.2L Ecotec engine in my 2003 GrandAm. So far, I have heard lots of great things about this engine. It's been out for a few years, and I thought I would share. Here are the specs on the 2.2L Ecotec (close to the one GM Racing modified).
GM 2.2L Ecotec (L61) Specs
Block: Cast Aluminum
Cylinder Head: Cast Aluminum
Displacement: 2.2L (2189cc)
Compression Ratio: 10.0:1
Bore x Stroke: 86.00 x 94.60mm
Valve Configuration: Dual Overhead Camshafts (4 valves per cylinder)
Horsepower: 140 @ 5600 rpm
Torque: 150 @ 4000 rpm
