Essentially, from what I've seen, trolling and outright abuse is completely OK here. It's too bad because good debate gets drowned out by slander and insults. The standard "Liberal blah blah blah" stuff is particulaly annoying. Relevancy (not to mention accuracy) should be a bare qualification to using such language.

But as it stands, it just looks like the ones who could afford to invest in the market are the ones who come out on top. That isn't mainstreet america.

"Mainstreet America" is overrated. Don't blame those who have on the ills that plague the have-nots. Get off your f*cking @$$ and work for what you want in life--the "there just aren't any jobs out there" nonsense makes me sick...

I have a job, Mr. I work for the employment office for the state I live in. I am an employment councilor and I have a very specific interest in this topic, it's my career. And If you had talked to me the way you just did to my face, you would be picking your teeth up off the ground seeking them from swollen, blackend eyes. :|

Funny exchange guys, but seriously since you work where the Unemployed come to, what are you seeing? Is there no unemployed people as the AT experts claim? Is the Economy Booming, Soaring and Sizzling as they claim?

When did anyone say that there is NO unemployment? Never. No one. And unemployment is not the only measured part of an economy, so how can he make an accurate assessment of the economy based on one indicator in his one little corner of the earth?

Unfortunately, some of the locals seem to hold the opinion that there are plenty of jobs for everybody- unemployment is merely an excuse for laziness. They've extrapolated the "anybody can get a job" routine into the "everybody can get a job" battle cry of the self-righteous, ignoring the fact that this particular recovery hasn't exactly been shared in the usual way. Job recovery has been exceptionally slow. Yeh, there's a lot of discussion about retraining &etc, but that doesn't matter a lot in the face of "retrained to do what?" What sector of the economy is hiring qualified applicants as fast as they can be found? Other than fast food and walmart, who don't require or even want any training...

Here's a challenge for any who've expressed that sentiment in this thread, and elsewhere- quit your own job, go find another, tell us what it's like out there, OK?

I'm in the process of doing that right now. What would you like to know. How many jobs are out there? Go to DirectEmployers.com and see for yourself. How many interviews I've had? Several? Job offers? Two. Interviews scheduled? Several more. I'm also still "outside" the window with an availability date of 15 May. I'm not even counting the companies that told me that they would call me at about the -45 day point. However to be fair about it, the two offers I've had were in my "specialty", I will very shortly have a Masters degree and I am willing to relocate to just about anywhere. I know it's a tough job market for many people but the headhunters I talk to tell me it is peoples unwillingness to relocate that makes this market even tougher.

There is no pressure moron. I'm not worried about it even a little bit. See, I don't have a police or an adverse employment record following me around. Quite the contrary. I'm experienced, well educated and I realize that I might have to move where the jobs are. I don't go into it thinking someone "owes" me a job. I could go a very long time(probably a year or more) without working. We are prepared for it, financially and otherwise, but I have every indication that I am going to be able to pick a job not settle for one. Sucks, huh? It's almost like I know what I'm doing.

i think when Warren Buffet and George Soros both told bush that his tax cuts gave them a ton of money they didn't need, shrub misunderstood and gave another tax cut for the billionaire's club.

LEAVE NO BILLIONAIRE BEHIND

-$7 TRILLION OR BUST

oh and bush's double tax cut for the rich has probably benefited me more than perhaps any other poster in this thread, but guess what? i'd rather have a balanced budget

so the children's children's children won't have to be slaves.

2.) Why ruin the window view?

3.) I can see the White House and Washington Monument from my office, so, in my opinion, it doesn't get too much better than this. Anymore smart-ass comments?

That's what it takes to become 'elite' around here; AT P&N at its finest. I feel sorry for the people who are looking for a job and have to deal with this nonsense.
