ok, so i was 17 before jan 1 2008, made well over 3000, and filed taxes.

should i get one? because june 6th has come and gone, and still nothing

Are you or could you be claimed as a dependent on your parents income taxes?

i dont believe so, it had the age limit which i believe was 17 after jan 1 2008

i dont believe so, it had the age limit which i believe was 17 after jan 1 2008



The 17 after jan 1 2008 has nothing to do with whether or not you can be claimed as a dependent on your'parents taxes. Most 17yr olds are claimed by their parents. If so,I believe you don't get a check and they don't get one for you. :(

You can be claimed as a dependent on someone else?s return (whether or not you actually are claimed as a dependent on someone else's return). For example, this would include a child or student who can be claimed on a parent?s return. [Updated 4/15/08]"

i believe they tried claiming me, but could not since i had held a job for the past 3 years.

i got a paper though months ago addressed to me explaining the stimulus payment, etc

hmm... haven't received anything in the mail yet, not even a letter saying that i will be getting my check... should i worry

Is there anyone here who filed on time and who thinks they're supposed to get a check and hasn't? If so, have you checked to see what the problem is? Just curious.
