alright you lazy bastard :p

Assume that NFI is a function of both real interest and exchange rates.

NFI = NFI(i,E) = 100 - 5i - 10E

Draw an equilibriuim in the loanable funds and foreign exchange market (you don't have to explicitly solve the problem. Just draw new function on three panels)

just to give a little background, i already have graphs for the loanable funds and foreign exchange market... but i don't know what he wants me to do here...

I was too lazy to download it

How's one supposed to draw an equilibrium for you over the forum? Am I missing something here? Also, what happened to your textbook? :confused:

If you can tell what your professor refers to as "panel", it would be helpful. :)

If not, this link might help you: Open Economy.

I think I know what he is asking for, but it isn't exactly clear to me what he refers to as "panels".

i don't need it drawn out for me, just some pointers in how to draw it.... and this material isn't in my textbook, he doesn't teach directly out of it.

i'm pretty sure he means the three graphs for loanable funds, nfi, and foreign currency exchange market. you know how with a recursive structure, the three are related, and you determine eq. based on the other graphs? the thing is, i don't think this is a recursive structure....

the problem i have is basically that i don't know how to graph an equation in the form of x = y + z where y and z are determined by two other graphs.

Only way you can draw it is to hold one constant while you draw the other so you need two graphs or a 3-dimensional model :confused:

<< NFI = NFI(i,E) = 100 - 5i - 10E >>
