Ecoboost Challenge

I went last year. Pretty well organized. Snacks/waters were provided. Nice way to kill a few hours.

My favorite was the fiesta ST. The Focus was also very good, but would oversteer much easier and had much more power. I didn't like the vauge shifter. Maybe they addressed that in the new ones.

I also managed to set the MPG record for the fusion, 100.3MPG!

Have not been to this before, might be fun but nearest to me is Louisville, KY, about a 5 hour drive. We have a 2014 Escape with the 2.0 l Ecoboost turbo engine. It's very peppy and gets 26 MPG average.

I did this two years ago when it came through - I've already signed up again for May in Charlotte. When I went last time they had a small 2nd gear autocross course set up where you got to do two laps in each of the STs.

From what I've read they're including the new Mustang as well this year - great free event and a great way to spent a few hours on a Saturday 🙂

I also have a Fiesta ST - bought it in August of last year, loving it more every day, woo!

I recently drove a 2015 Chrysler 200S V6 and a 2014 Ford Fusion Ecoboost. The Chrysler by far has the nicer cabin and unlike the Ecoboost, the 3.6L V6 goes effortlessly when you press the gas. Of course the Ford gets better fuel economy and I'm told if you put them on a race track the Ford handles better (not like anyone buying either of the cars will ever do this - likely they will drive them in stop and go traffic on the Interstate to work like the rest of us). If I were buying new today it would be 200, Fusion, Accord and forget the rest.

Thanks for the thread, I forgot this existed. I wasn't able to go last year, but I registered myself and my girlfriend for Seattle. It's about 4/4.5 hours away, but we can make a weekend out of it.

I've been eyeing the Fiesta ST for a while, it will be nice to get to drive one on a course instead of the typical test drive at a dealer.

Some friends and I have signed up. We were there last year too and it was pretty fun with snacks and drinks. And little gifts.

Ohh cool, they are setting up in Arlington Park, less than an hour from my house, horse racing track ...

Friend of mine recently got the turboed escape, its quicker than my non turbo 08 forester, but the XTs seem to stomp them ...

Might be cool to sign up though since woman needs a new car soon, and focus ST might wind up being on the plate ....

I'm curious about the Fiesta ST and especially curious about the Mustang. I can't quite figure out how I feel about the Stang. I think this will finally help me find peace within myself. LOL!

I test drove a Focus ST some time back. It wasn't my cup of tea. I recognize its greatness, but I just didn't like it.

I'll hopefully be buying a Fiesta ST next Thursday so this would be a great opportunity to really drive the car, well not my car one of theirs.

Anyone here tried this?

I signed up for the one in Orlando. Been thinking of buying a FiST/FoST. Just haven't pulled the trigger.

This might help me decide. 😛

Cool! I signed up for Orlando as well.

I'm signed up for 2:00 in Orlando!

Hey, me too!

thanks! reserved a philly spot in June. Been to similar events hosted by BMW, Mazda, and Lexus. Mazda was by far the most fun. Got to drive the mx-5 in an actual track and not just in a parking lot autocross course. Lexus one was the worst

The girlfriend is signed up, too. Will be hitting up Universal and Islands of Adventure after thrashing some Fords. It'll be a good day!

Nooooooo... got an e-mail saying they canceled the Charlotte event on May 2. They're doing an event in Raleigh instead on May 16 🙁 Charlotte would have been awesome - it was only 4 miles from my house.

I signed up for the Louisville, KY one. How long does the event last? Do you only get 1 hour with the car? Do you get to choose cars? I'm actually wanting to try the Fiesta ST, the Ecoboost Stang and the F150 if they got it
