EchoStar sucks

My tv converter box coupons expire today but the tr-40 still has not been released yet. They were suppose to be out in February but have now been pushed back to June 16.

To make matters worst the government won't make up it's mind whether they will allow people to reapply for the coupons or not.


PS: Apex also has a nice model coming out in June.

Why is it their fault though? You either purchase the service for those TV's and pay the mirroring fee or you pay for a converter box to get OTA service... I don't see why it's Echostar that sucks.. 😕

I never understood the rush to get the coupons when the boxes aren't needed until February 09, and the coupons are only good for 90 days.

I was under the impression that the boxes would be ready and echostar said they would be then they pushed the release date back from feburary to june.

The TR40 is a converter box, made by Echostar.

I got the coupons, but haven't used them yet either. I think most boxes are overpriced as it is. Considering they do such a basic function, I'm pretty sure they'll end up being really cheap before its over....

I don't actually own a Television.... I just have a TV card in my computer and a VCR I use for cable programming. I don't receive anything over the air waves....so I'm good unless I cancel my cable package. There's a chance I'll want to downsize later on if the economy gets worse and I need to cut back.

EchoStar sucks for not be ready for a launch when they already knew the time frame and that coupons would have an expiration date.

The Republicans suck for choosing to put a 90 day expiration date on the coupon instead of Feburary 26, 2009.

The current chief in charge of coupons sucks for dragging his feet about how, when and if people will be able to reapply for the coupons. He has been very vague about the whole issue.

The TR40 is a converter box, made by Echostar.

Oh!! Gotcha. I didn't realise that. I thought he was blaming his Dish service :laugh: Sorry OP.

But you did know the product you intended to buy was not yet available, and ordered the coupons anyway? Not that I'm saying any of the other parties involved don't suck, but surely you must see that you do have some amount of culpability here.

No doubt a lot of people will wait until the last minute. But the last minute is over 8 months away. 8 months!

such as???? I do not use an antenna....so I have no idea about this whole DTV issue.

I saw one of these boxes at radioshack last night and I noticed that there was no coaxial connection. How are people supposed to use this?

They all have coaxial connectors some have smart antenna as well.
