Echos

"Mythbusters" tried it and it is definitly a myth.
However, they DID come to the same conclusion as in the link: A ducks quack sound a bit like an echo, meaning it is difficult to distinguish the actual quack from its echo.

I remember there was a website from students at a college doing tests to prove this. They had sound samples, pics, and everything. Just makes me laugh looking at the picture of the duck in the anechoic chamber and thinking about how much money was spent on those facilities and equipment so that they can prove that a duck's quack has an echo. Gotta love academia.

These kinds of "experiments" are hilarious. A duck's quack is a sound wave... so it will bounce off of sound-reflective surfaces, so it must echo. Just because humans can't hear it doesn't mean sh1t.

Ducks don't have an echo because they don't really make any noise. A duck's quack is actually telepathic communications. Ducks really are from another planet and got banned to our third-rate backwater system because of all of the pollution they create as domestic animals on local lakes and golf courses. Geese are here for the same reason. Banning them was no big deal as they have no useful purpose although they have come in handy as falcon food.
