This is the official signup thread! Once we know who is in we'll kick it off. Let's all start with empty buffers please! I will post progress reports based on the Project Team Stats Page. In the event that the project ends before the race, we will need to figure out how to determine a winner.

My suggestion: Keep track of total DPs returned by each participant, beginning with the 12:55 Oct 16 stat update from the official site. Should the project end before the race has concluded, the one who has returned the most DPs will be declared the winner.

My other suggestion: Uninstall UT2K3 and give the CDs to a friend who shall be instructed not to give them back to you until the race has ended. 🙂
 
Ill be participating unofficiallly. Its tough to find a floppy to dump my non-networked machine sometimes 😉

And I found out the SPARC version of the client sucks. 🙁
 
Hehe I wish! I will be happy to have 100 on it! But I did add another Athlon XP 2000+ so when I get crushed it won't be really bad. 🙂

Let's see, no chance to win; current rate would take me something like 300 days to do that. I'll find some more GHz though, might be fun.
 
Whoohooo! I think I just acuired the use of a P4 2.2GHz and my duron 1.3Ghz should be in tomarrow. I might actually have some firepower. 🙂

Just a word of advise: the P4 really sucks @ ECCp-109, try to trade cycles with someone on another DC team that has a XP 1800 or higher AMD processor.

Yeah I know but what am I gonna do? I wish I could but I am lucky engough just to get it to run it. He is only running it becuase it doesnt need to connect out or anything like that. And I can just tell him to send whenever I need him to. Also I could not garuntee any kind of work becuase it is all dependent on him to run it....
