ECCP question/problem

OK I've had this client (version wGI130) installed for almost a day now and I still don't show up on the stats anywhere. I'm beginning to wonder if I have it installed right.

Anybody know what file to check/change to make sure I have it config'd correctly.

Useful info:
*Yes I am signed up and have a username and such (joined the TeAm too but don't showup- can't even find myself in the big overall stats)
* windows 2000
* Client version wGI130 - from MM's site I believe.

Any help?

What does the client show for total distinguished points? Is it showing anything in points waiting to be sent?

Nothing waiting to be sent. It showed 66 total.

I stopped that one and reinstalled in a different folder - using the same userinfo.txt file(copy paste) and it is up and running.

there are 6 files in this folder:

eccp109w.exe
eccinfo
userinf.txt (<- only one copied from old install)
plist
dplist
dplist.log

Should I have other files?

I downloaded this client from this page.

Thanks

Yes, make sure that you have actually submitted DP's. If you have, there will be a dplist.log in your eccp directory.

IIRC (it's been a loooonngg time), you need to submit a DP before you can sign up for a team.

If your handle is the same as your name here, then you have not shown up in the stats yet. We'll get you there, though. 😉

You don't have an eccp109.ini. That client was made to be added to a standard install.

You should be able to make a file, and put the following into it:

START_MINIMIZED=0
PERM_CONN=0
NEED_ACK=1
EXT_TIMING=0
#SEND_INTERVAL=hh:mm:ss
#PROXY=host😛ort
#DP_SERVER_HOST=myhost.org
#DP_SERVER_URL=http://myhost.org/cgi-bin/getres.cgi

Edit: That 'smilie' should be a : followed by a p.

OK so I copied the eccp109.ini from the old install and placed it in the new one. Where did my 6 DPs(from the new install) go if there was no eccp109.ini file?

Here is the last(top) note in the dplist.log from the old install:

Here is the latest in the new dplist.log:

Anymore help?

Yes I signed up using CADkindaGUY and I entered my email into the field at the bottom of the stats page and then recieved the email - I then clicked the link like a good little boy😛 and still no stats today🙁

Hmmm hope a whole day of crunchin didn't get wasted.

CADkindaGUY

Whatever you do, save your dplist.log files. At the very worst, Chris can use those to reconstruct your submission.

The official stats only run every 6 hours, so we will have to see if you show up on the next stats run. If you do, then email Chris Monico (cmonico@nd.edu) and send him your dplist.logs and explain that you were running w/o an eccp109.ini and ask if he can credit your stats.

If you don't show up on the stats, we will have to dig deeper...

I was running the first install with the eccp109.ini file, but because originally I had the CLI installed but didn't like it because I couldn't make sure it was working😛 So I downloaded the gui and put it in the same folder. Now for the 2nd install I just downloaded the gui and tried starting it - didn't like that I didn't have a userinf.txt so i copied that over.

Thats the whole story. I should have been in the stats by now since it has been submitting since yesterday - I only reinstalled this morning because I didn't seem to showup in the stats anywhere.

Ohwell - I'll just wait and see I guess.

CADkindaGUY

You are in the stats now. Welcome! 🙂

You can get feedback from the CLI client by using the -v flag. You can see other option with the -h flag.

OK so now it says I have 8 DPs - what about my 66 from yesterday? The 8 is from this 2nd install.

Did I just lose a days worth? I'm not sure why it would work now and didn't yesteday - except for the fact that I have CLI stuff in the same dir as the gui. Hmm. Well onward and upward I guess 😀

CADkindaGUY

Well, I don't know. Did you have the cygwin1.dll when runnning the CLI client? That's all I can think of.

If you still have the dplist.log with the 66 entries from from the first install e-mail them to Chris. If you don't have this file, I don't think that there is much that can be done. Sorry.

Yeah - I have the .dll and I do have the dplist.log.

My question now is what happened? why didn't I originally get credit for those even though they were submitted with my CADkindaGUY info? (userinf.txt never changed)

Hmm oh well I'll send the log file with a short note - If I get credit - great! 😀 but if not - oh well, guess it is all a learning experience😉😛
