I've installed one of the XP's (1700+) and I only could run 1 instance of the ECCp-109 client on the dual-Celeron...

Does anyone know how to configure the client to run 2 instances on a dual-processor machine?

nagger, you have several options. How extensive those options are depends on what O/S you're running.

But in general, you can

1) Run the ND SMP client. Pros: takes care of both CPUs. Cons: much slower than current clients.

2) Run two instances of the client* in different directories. Do not copy plist or eccinfo or you will get dupes.

*You cannot run two instances of the GUI client. You can however, run two CLI clients or one GUI and one CLI


Depending on the O/S you may be able to run the clients as services.

I don't know which statsaholic client you want, but I'll try to explain more clearly. You can't run two instances of any ECCp GUI client on the same computer, even if you have them in different directories.

Here is what I do on my XP machine. Granted this is not the optimal solution if you have to worry about other users on the machine (which I don't). I run two of Ken_g6's CLI clients, one in directory ECCp109_1, and one in ECCp109_2. I rename the clients, also, so I can tell them apart in Task Manager (e.g., eccp109cl_1.exe).

I then put the following batch file in my startup folder.

restart.bat:

REM
REM Start ECCp-109 CLI clients (master)
REM
CALL C:\ECCP109_1\restart1.bat
CALL C:\ECCP109_2\restart2.bat


where restart1.bat (and similarly restart2.bat) is in the ECCp109_1 folder:

REM
REM Start ECCp-109 CLI clients (local)
REM
CD C:\ECCP109_1
START /MIN /LOW eccp109cl_1.exe -v -xmit


Ken's CLI client starts with normal priority, this sets them to low so they don't monopolize system resources.
