On a side note, does anyone know how to set the GUI (that is the fastest for a win xp computer isn't it?) to say that it's got a permenant net connection automatically?

If the GUI isn't the fastest what is and how do i set it up?

To automatically send DPs, set PERM_CONN=1 in your eccp109.ini file.

And no, the GUI client is not the fastest client, the CLI client is a bit faster.

The fastest CLI client is available here. Note that you will also need the
cygwin.dll which you can get here, and that the client is set to run at normal priority.

You can run this as a service with something like FireDaemon, and can also reduce the priority setting. Since I'm the only one who runs on my XP system, I don't bother runnning as a service, but start the clients (dualie) with a script on reboot.
 
Last couple of days I've had trouble sending in my results.. I have the enhanced client set for manual transmission. When I go to transmit, it says

Attempting to send...
Attempting to send.... Failed.

any ideas? No other internet connection problems that I know of. I've got ZoneAlarm Pro running, but I've never had a problem before..

Try setting it it to use the TechIMO proxy, add to eccp109.ini:
DP_SERVER_HOST=24.72.9.177
DP_SERVER_URL=http://24.72.9.177/eccpproxy.pl

..and restart the client.

out, right)? Anyway, I got rid of them and changed to the proxy you suggested. It takes a little bit longer but it sent successfully.

Appreciate the help.. Now to climb back up to the top 50! 😀

The lines are #-commented by default, client has the eccp main server address hardcoded. I suspected you just had some sort of network problems (probably DNS), so I adviced you to use other server and also gave the proxy addresses in numeric format.
