BTW, has anyone tried the linux client I compiled with the new assembly code and posted about a short time ago? I'd like to know if it works on other systems besides mine.

MM, I can't try it unfortunately. My 6 Linux diskless nodes use a customized client that sends the DPs to another box within my LAN. A rather homebrew client/server configuration. One of these days I will begin the task of updating my source code to include all the latest performance improvements.
