Possible job offer for a store manager position which is not bad money at all and I am thinking about taking it. It seams they are growing fast but maybe too fast? I'm not a tech head but a more a saleman/ manager type so this is up my alley. Not sure If I want to deal with punk kids all day long though. Also this is a Prime heavy traffic mall top 20 store whose managers keep growing and getting promoted...

I dont know if I could handle dealing with teenagers or parents of little kids who have no clue.

I say go for it, because worse comes to worse you just quit!

I not sure about the company but come school time if you work during the day m-f shouldn't be a problem.

Malls are pretty empty during the middle of the day.

That's when I go to see movies and do any shopping.

I worked for the company before..once 1.5 years ago and the other like 6. The company has changed a ton and now it puts alot more pressure to sell like a motha. Before it was a fairly nice place to work but now it is all about the pre-owned stuff and making a killing at reselling them. My old manager offered me an asistant manager position but I turned him down...it would have been way too much stress. Of course there are good days and bad ones...but still..I don't think it is worth it. It also depends on your situation though too.

True, I am sure there will be a lot of competition among stores. Retail jobs are tough, sell sell sell or bye bye.

Anytime I go to EB most of the guys just stand behind the counter (few of them stock stuff) and they won't say anything unless you speak to them first. I guess thats just how they are at the location I go to.

Same here, or they're joking with their buddies and looking at the ceiling mounted TVs playing PS2.

At my local EB, the guys in there always come up to me and ask me if I need any help. Maybe it's because the only time I'm in there is in the middle of the day and it seems dead in there, but maybe they're bored? :)

If I was a store manager they would not be unless they were on break or wanted a different job :)

If they give good CS and try to upsell they will make good money. If they want to play and not work at work and I let them it would be my error and I would do them a disservice making them think that is acceptable work behavior. It's not Office space! PC load letter this! Really though it is a Service driven business if they don't serve, people buy elsewhere period. :( It all comes down to the golden rule. :p

And of course it is sell sell sell it's sales! They are not there as an order taker. Order takers are a dime a dozen and are minimum wage jobs for people that don't care and that you don't want helping you or working for you frankly.
