EBAY! Whats the scene like nowadays?

I just went to paypal and they are asking for something I didnt see the last time (granted that was many years ago) but in addition to my check card they also want all my bank info. Is this needed if I want to sell stuff and collect money? Cant I just leave the money I make from ebay IN my paypal account, to buy stuff elseware?

If yes, would propay and that other one also require the same info?

Don't give paypal your bank info. Even if you decide late to delete it from the account, it is not truly deleted, only from your view but they keep the info still. So if there is a problem later on and they do a charge back on you even if your bank account isn't on the account anymore they will still hit the bank account if you do not have the funds in the paypal account.

Horrible shitty company, I can not say enough, avoid them. If you must use them give as little info as possible.

I had Paypal a long time ago for buying books from oddball little companies. They were actually OK back then, but I have not used in such a long time I needed to make a new account. They dont seem as nice as before. I guess they got fucked over too many times and started to get anal retentive. Ditto for Ebay. My dad used to sell shit on there all the time, and rarely had issues. They also didnt nickel and dime him to death.

Sad theres no good online auction place anymore. I guess if enough people abuse it, it collapses on itself.

Am sick of eBay's rampant fraud sellers and spam from Craigslist spam-bots so I've just been looking for other sites to sell/trade my stuff. I just began using GameTZ not too long ago and have had good experiences so far. I've tried to sell stuff on eBay with no luck so been trying to find other sites to get rid of my stuff. Hmm..

Apparently, having a Buy It Now price really doesnt matter much. As soon as somebody puts in any bid (even a fucking dollar) the Buy It Now disappears forever, along with the money you put up to simply have it there.
Fucking brilliant. Fuck the seller out of every last penny if you have to, despite making money on the multitude of ads all over the god damn place.
It would seem plenty of assholes know this and deliberately place a minimum bid as soon as the item is put up for sale, then the next 5 days are just spent sitting, staring at that lame bid. Cuz nobody who actually wants it can fucking buy it now.

Leave a reserve with a buy it now. Buy it now does not go away until bid price > reserve price.

D&D 3rd edition books in excellent condition have been selling for just about MSRP on ebay lately.
My book was valued at 30 bucks and I put a Buy It Now of 25 dollars.
LAST time I put up a book for 10 bucks and it was gone instantly. Obviously I fudged up. Probably could have made a lot more money. I dont wanna do that again. Newb owned once, shame on you. Newb owned twice, shame on me.

I just sold my third D&D book without any issues.
Save one.

Looks like I will always have to go to the post office to get my book weighed and then pay for postage right there. I cant just buy the flat rate media mailers for 4.90 and then keep a bunch of them at my house. That would save me a BUTT load of hassle.

Think I'll put up two books at a time from now on. I still have 48 left to go.
THEN, the other non-D&D books.
Then some old photo equipment.
Then the old speakers.

Damn, I really hope nobody fucks me over during this process. A lot of folks would be mad if I stopped selling before I got to the really good books.

The PO has flat rate priority mailers that you can purchase in advance.

Depending on the weight/size of your books; that may also be a way to go.

Also, if you use insurance; that will act as proof of delivery incase the item is "misplaced". $0.50/$100 value. No need for DC - it actually is better because it requires a signature of the receiver and the PO can not just state that it was delivered.

Get a scale and weigh them yourself. Purchase shipping labels online and you get free delivery confirmation on some shipping.

Media Mail would be cheaper than flat rate Priority envelopes...unless your books are made of lead.
