As you know, eBay's Feedback system is a big part of what makes eBay fun and rewarding for buyers and sellers. We're writing to let you know about some exciting new features coming during the week of April 30--features designed to make Feedback more valuable for buyers and a stronger showcase for your great service record.

Detailed Seller Ratings help you stand out.

In addition to the current positive, negative, or neutral comment, buyers will now be able to rank, on a scale of 1-5, four key aspects of a transaction: accuracy of item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges.

After a seller receives 10 of these rankings, the average scores will appear as a series of stars under a new section on the Feedback Profile page titled "Detailed Seller Ratings."

This new feature will provide more transparency to boost shopper confidence--and help your good reputation stand out at a glance.

Also, the item title and price will appear next to each Feedback comment. This will add helpful information for shoppers and encouragement to those in the market for what you sell.

Please take a minute to review all the new Feedback features coming soon.

And be sure to check out these helpful tips for building and maintaining your solid Feedback record.

Sincerely,

eBay Trust & Safety Team

You know what drives me nuts about ebay is that the people who sell stuff wait until you post feedback about them to post feedback about you and half the time they never do. Fvckers. That drives me crazy. :|

No matter how good the idea is, eBay will find some way to fvck it up.

Take the whole concept of online auction for example...

I used to leave feedback right away after the sale for an item i sold, Now i don't. An unreasonable customer waited until almost three months after the sale to demand a refund, i had already left feedback, she hadn't and tried to use that against me. I ended up with my one and only neg. Now i wait.

Same here. People won't leave negative feedback if you can retaliate.

Lol, this will never work because most buyers won't take the time to leave such detailed feedback.

It could work, although I seriously doubt people will vary their responses to different areas. It'll either be all good or all bad.

Which makes the feedback system completely worthless.

I agree. Didn't used to be that way.

QFMFT MF bargainland. I paid the minute I won waited patiently for 3 weeks. Emailed them like dozen times without response. Never got a refund until I filed a dispute with paypal. Of course I'm going to give them a neg. Of course they give me my 1 and only negative. As a buyer I did all I was supposed to do and they screw up my feedback. No wonder they get like 3000 negative a month

If you want to leave someone a negative, wait until 90 days has almost expired, down to the hour, then leave it for them. Then the auction goes inactive and they can't retaliate.

I think there is a way to get around this if they appeal or something. I know I have seen it happen somewhere before.

Of course if I am wrong this would be a great idea provided you remember at the end of 90 days.

The better way to get around it is to have a buyer account and a seller account. No one cares what feedback buyers have so giving retaliatory feedback is worthless and you can give the negative much faster.

Of course there really is no need for feedback other then paid on time/didn't pay on time for buyers.

I do that. I'd rather not get feedback then give up my only leverage.

I've always said that the "BUYER" should leave feedback first, after that, it's simple!

As for the new implementation...... Looks good! I'm sure many people under the "Accuracy of item description" and "Shipping time" will get low marks ;)

Can't wait **LMAO**

They should have a category on how well the item was packaged.
