ebay shipping price

I recently sold an item

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI...AIT&viewitem=&item=130064557657&rd=1,1

Now the buyer is complaining that my shipping fee setup at $25 is way to high and that he shipped similiar for $8 and i did the quote and he is wrong it is aleast $14.

I clearly stated how much shipping is. I didn't pull a fast one. I'm worried that the guy is
going to attempt to give me a negative feedback. I did nothing wrong. I admit i overcharged a little but thats to factor in all the ebay/paypal fees along with shipping and HANDLING.

What is this guy's beef? And what if he gives a negative.

while you state it in the auction i tis high and a ripoff.

but he should have thought of that before he bid.

whatever you do, make sure you talk to him in a civil, calm manner. As long as you point out that you stated the price accordingly in a calm natured manner, I'm sure he will eventually just say "ok fine".

i just replied back to him in a clam manner stating pretty much everything is thinking. so far i've added up $ 15 for shipping and 3 for ebay fees. paypal i'm assuming is give or take 5 so i only make a $5 gain. My honest idea was to sell it for 99 cents and thats how some of my auctions go for weird items like this.

people usually bid accordingly, sum of final price and shipping is usually the same anyway.

this guy probably gets deals by bidding on auctions with high ship costs so the final price is low, then bitches about shipping. good tactic i guess.

it's not your fault he can't read.

I stated that too in my email. I'm just bothered by a possible negative. I might not have a lot of feedback but i work hard for my 100% and for it to get messed up by someone who cant read.

Yes, we all pad the shipping to make up for the fees. This tard just does not get it yet. If he threatens to give you a negative then report him for feedback extortion. If he neg or neutrals you give him one righ back then try for mutual withdrawl. Sounds like he is just trying to extort a lower price from you through the shipping. Sell to someone else, this guy will most likely b!tch about the product when he gets it. I hate the Ebitches.

that is the thing you cannot factor in ebay/paypal fees, it is against Paypals TOS to charge anyone extra to cover fees and your account will be closed if reported
however that being said you can charge anything you want for shipping and since shipping cost was there from the beginning, by ending the auction and being the highest bidder he is legally bound by the terms of the auction, which state he must pay $25 for shipping

Seems high.

I just had an entire computer UPS'd to me for $19.

That being said, make it clear to the buy that the fee is for shipping AND handling. Then call him a douche nozzle. KIDDING!

Tell him that you can't change the shipping price because it would be unfair to the other bidders because you are supposed to factor in shipping price with your bid. Tell him that he doesn't need to worry about any non-positive feedback if he wants to back out of the bid. Then offer it to the next highest bidder if he agrees.

I find that people react positively to this.

I don't believe eBay allows you to use shipping and handling fees to offset/circumvent eBay/Paypal fees. On the other hand, he really should have brought it up before he won the auction. If you had lower shipping, the auction likely would have gone higher, because intelligent people bid based on price + shipping.

You stated the shipping price ahead of time.
Case closed./
Doesn't matter is the hsipping price is high or not.

thats a double edged sword. Ebay is starting to crack down on people that use shipping as a way to offset fees and inflate profit.

they might hit both members.

Yea, the $0.99 buy it now software or other small item with $25 shipping is nuts, but this is a faily large package. Maybe the OPs time to stand inline at the post office is worth $10.

True, but how many unintelligent people are on ebay 🙂

Some people make ALL their money on shipping fees. I bought a cell phone belt clip one time for $.99 and $4.99 shipping or something. He shipped it USPS so it have the receipt on it that said he really paid $.67 to ship it so he made an extra $4.33 on the item. And if you sell 1000 of them, it adds up quickly.

Shipping is stated in the auction so he should be smart enough to take that into consideration when he bid. If he leaves you negative, you can contact eBay and have it removed since it was plainly stated in the auction.
